My Radio Debut - talking all things make-up and bridal prep
Last weekend Radio Chelmsford invited me to join presenter, Sara Tupper on her Saturday show to talk all things make-up and bridal prep. As part of their #sharethelove theme, to celebrate valentines weekend, we reminisced the chaos and excitement of a wedding morning.
Being a MUA I am very lucky to have shared many a bride’s wedding mornings. It’s ultimate girl time, starting from about 6am through to lunchtime with lots of Prosecco and some sandwich platters to ensure the bridal party line their stomachs!
The MUA and Hair Stylist are typically the first suppliers you’ll meet on your wedding morning. We know time flies when you’re having fun so we’ll keep you to schedule, alternating hair and make-up, to ensure you’re all ready to get into your dresses, with plenty of time for photos ahead of the cars arriving or leaving the bridal suite.
It‘s a busy morning, there’s lots happening and a host of suppliers arriving, including your florist and photographer. You may have some gifts to give your bridal party, there maybe an emotional moment when you read a card from your groom. But my favourite moment, which makes me cry every time, is the big reveal! The dress! It’s a moment you’ll treasure forever and it’s so rewarding to see the whole look come together. Playing a part in creating your bridal look is why I love my job so much!
There are always a few tears when the bride meets her Dad, or the family member giving her away, so I always allow enough time for under eye touch ups. Don’t worry girls!
I can’t wait to have you and your bridesmaids in my make-up chair, Spotify playlist on, insisting you eat something, chatting make-up tips and helping you into your dresses.
Its been nearly a year since I last did wedding make-up and I cannot wait to get back out there and meet my brides booked for later this year and 2022!
Check out a few clips below from my Radio Chelmsford interview, where I talk about bridal prep and reveal some make-up tips and tricks for any brides considering doing their own wedding make-up. I also share some of the amazing wedding venues I’ve worked at, including The Compasses at Pattiswick and Gosfield Hall - both have beautiful bridal suites, which are a dream to work in.
