Terms & CONDITIONS

Making a booking

To book Emma Smeaton Make-up Artist you will need to complete a booking form (available upon request). Please notify Emma of your wedding date and time when you first make contact. Please return your booking form and secure your booking with a £50 deposit, which will be deducted from your final balance.

Until receipt of the deposit, the booking is only provisionally booked in Emma Smeaton Make-up Artists calendar. Should Emma receive another booking enquiry for the same date, you will be notified by email and given a 24-hour window to secure the booking with a £50 deposit to be paid by BACS transfer. If payment is not received within 24 hours you will lose your provisional booking and your date will be released.

Payment terms and minimum requirements

28 days before the wedding date please confirm with Emma the final numbers for make-up on the wedding day. You will receive your final quote based on these numbers, along with your wedding morning schedule at least one week before your wedding date. BACs payment should be received 48 hours before the wedding date. Please notify Emma if you will be paying cash on the day, which is requested upon Emma's arrival.

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the minimum number for a booking is a Bride plus 2 other adults. Please notify Emma of any reduction in wedding party numbers at least 28 days before the wedding date, otherwise you will still be charged as per the initial quote.

Any increase in wedding party numbers/ changes in requirements may be possible by prior agreement with Emma. For make-up that is applied to additional bridal party members that has not been pre-arranged, payment is required immediately - standard rates apply (ref. page one of your booking form).

Cancellation policy

The deposit is non-refundable if the booking is cancelled by client. If you chose to postpone your wedding date and your new date is free in Emma's calendar, you can transfer the deposit payment to your new date, which will be confirmed in writing by email.

If your new date is not free in my calendar you will lose your deposit. If your wedding has been affected by the Coronavirus please contact me directly to discuss available dates, so you do not lose your deposit.

If due to sickness or ill health Emma is unable to attend your wedding day, she will try to source another make-up artist and will transfer over any money paid by the client to the artist stepping in. Emma will also share details of the make-up used in the trial, so the replacement artist can create the exact same look. Please note this has never happened before and Emma has a network of make-up artists to call upon if this scenario was to occur.

In the unlikely situation where Emma is unable to do your makeup and cannot source another artist, all monies will be refunded to the client by BACs payment immediately.

Travel

For travel to wedding venues or trial appointments more than 20 miles outside of Chelmsford, there is a charge of £0.45 per mile.

Allergies

It is the client’s responsibility to notify your Make-up Artist of any allergies, including Latex, when confirming your booking. Emma Smeaton Make-up Artist takes cleanliness and hygiene very seriously, therefore accepts no responsibility for any reactions once make-up is applied.

Use of photographs
Emma takes photos of her work to use on social media and for her portfolio on her website.
Photos are often sent directly to Emma by professional photographers after the wedding. If you would prefer for Emma to NOT use your photographs, please put this request in writing BEFORE your wedding date. Emma will always apply photo credits and hyperlink to your photographer's website where possible.
